Gaelic Park, Perry Road, Keysborough Victoria was officially opened
on 2nd June 1985 by his Excellency Dr Patrick Hillery, President of
Ireland at that time.
The impressive
sports complex at Gaelic Park is a culmination of years of hard work
and dedication by many in the Irish community in Melbourne.
Gaelic Football
and Hurling were being played in Melbourne as far back as 1842 and
probably earlier.
Gaelic Park is
more than just a focal point for sporting activities. It also serves
as a valuable cultural and community centre for the Irish in Melbourne.
